Cassie is the Queen of Seminole.  Every resident here at Seminole is dearly loved and expertly cared for, BUT, Cassie is very "special"  She came to me a beautiful, but frightened and withdrawn little girl five months of age.  When I picked Cassie up at the airport, and opened her crate, she huddled in a corner in back of crate.  I immediately fell in love with her -- tears rolled down my cheeks because she was so frightened -- I sat her on my lap and cuddled her on the way home.  About halfway home her little tail started to move just a bit.  I continued to cuddle her and speak softly to her.  By the time we got home, she had warmed up just a little bit. Cassie slept in my bed that night huddled against me and still does.  Cassie has touched my heart like no other--she is more human than one can imagine.  She is as much a part of my family as the "real" people, and everyone treats her so.  I cannot think of this home without Cassie and the other little furkids, so hopefully we'll all just grow old together.                                                           Nancy
